The key to writing when life gets hard is to find your balance and take off the pressure. No matter how prolific of a wordsmith you are, life can derail your writing practice in a heartbeat, and I’m here to assure you it’s ok not to write every day.

We’ve all been there.

One day we’re charging through our manuscript like a knight on a royal steed, the next we’re fallen on the battlefield screaming “my leg!”

The hurricane comes and all of the sudden we realize we haven’t written in almost two weeks. Or two months. Or *gasp* two years. (No shade)

It might be a diagnosis, a tragedy, a trauma, or a string of really, really bad days. Maybe you have a chronic illness, or you’re a caregiver. Maybe you’re just sad and tired!!!
